Photos From Last Season

If you haven't noticed, I do believe winter is here. Most of what we are doing is in preparation for next planting season.  There are some exciting thing about to take place after the first of the year which we believe will greatly increase our ability to help provide food for those in need in the days ahead. I'll post more about this in the following months. I thought I'd post a few photos of last years garden for those interested. If you would like to contact us or find out more about the ministry, you can email us at squashpatchfarms@gmail.com

Enjoy the photos

Planting Completed

With the warm April, we were able to plant early this year in the hopes for an extended production season. Around 50% of the crops have already germinated and we expect the remainder to be germinating within a week or so. We will be posting some photos once everything is up.

Although we had hoped to have been able to open up more ground this year, we were only able to put into additional production about 25% of the additional ground we initially intended. Next year should see us open up the remaining ground.

As some of our readers know, 95% of our production is distributed to the needy. Most of our production has been going to various feeding programs in the Tri-City area. This season our focus will be towards those served by our local Chino Valley Senior Center and local churches. We also are working on developing a food distribution day either at one of the local church's or possible here at the farm itself. As we get further along in the season we'll keep our readers updated about this.

As always, once we start harvesting, anyone in need of food is welcome to contact us.

That's all for now!

SMALL FARM & RANCH MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

THE “SMALL FARM & RANCH MANAGER”

If you are a Small Farmer, Hobby Farmer, Rancher or maybe you just have a few head of horses, cattle, sheep, goats, chickens or whatever, or maybe you just have a very large garden, you may have looked on line and other sources to see if any of the Agricultural Software out there could help your operation and possibly help you operate a little easier, more efficiently and increase your production and profits. I know we did. The trouble was that all the really complete pieces of software were just far too expensive for our operation. Some of those programs are even running into the thousands of dollars. Even the “Free & Web Based” programs seem to fall short of what we needed to do. The thought of having to have several different programs to meet our needs was unacceptable. As a result and over many months, we built our own program that works very well for us. It may just be the solution you are looking for also.

The Program we put together has most everything the small farmer, rancher or large gardening operation needs to operate pretty efficiently. It is built and designed in Excel and may work under other spreadsheet programs. We have found however that when used under Open Office (Open Office and Libre Office, completely Free alternative to Microsoft Office) these programs do not appear to be robust enough at present to handle our program. This may change in the future. If you can use an Excel Spreadsheets, “The Small Farm Manager” program should be easy for you to use and you can even modify and customize it (if necessary) to fit your needs. We provide free initial training and support and will even help you get it set up for your operation.

There are a number of elements to the program. Take a look at the lists below and see if this program isn't something you could use.

CUSTOMER & CLIENT MANAGER (CRM)

Keep track of your customers & clients with – CRM Contact Tracking, Customer & Client's Details, Vendor Log, Detailed Contact Log, Sales Log, Scheduling Calendar

Some farms offer other Services such as Wedding Receptions, Tours, Pony Rides, Carnivals, Holiday Events, ect. If your farm does this, you can track these services also with this element of the program or use the Service Manager element of the program.

SMALL FARM CROP MANAGER

Manage your Crops, Fields, Herbicide & Pesticide Treatments, Crop Irrigation Data, Sales & Distribution, Calculate Your Wholesale Price & Market Prices and Track Your Crop Inventory

SMALL FARM EQUIPMENT & ASSET MANAGEMENT
Keep track of your Equipment & Assets with – an Equipment & Asset Log, Depreciation Tracking, Maintenance Scheduling and Maintenance Costs

SMALL FARM LIVESTOCK MANAGER
Keep track of your Livestock with – Livestock Log, Livestock Pedigree Information, Livestock Medical & Health Information and Report, Livestock Costs & Expenses and Report, Detailed Livestock Notes and Report and Livestock Purchases & Sales

SMALL FARM MANUFACTURING MANAGER

If you manufacture products (Soaps & Creams, Baskets or whatever) on your farm you can track that activity with – Master Product Inventory Log, Product Sales Tracking, Product Inventory Tracking, Product Production Log, Production Costs Calculations and Worksheets

SMALL FARM SERVICES MANAGER

This element is a stand alone element of the program of the same features mentioned in the CRM program.
 AND FINALLY,

SMALL FARM BOOKKEEPING
If you are not already using a full blown Accounting Program or are using some simple Spreadsheets to keep track of your finances, you might find this element of the program really helpful.

There are so many elements within the main program elements themselves that a complete explanation of them all isn’t feasible here.

About Squash Patch Farm

Squash Patch Farm is what we guess most would consider a Charitable Type of Farm Operation located in Chino Valley. 90 plus percent of what we grow, we donate to local feeding organizations and individuals in and around the Chino Valley, Paulden, Prescott, & PV area. We are really small compared to most farming operations but we produce a lot of produce. Over the years, we have needed to get a better handle on how we were operating. That is why we developed this program. You may be in the same situation and this program could just possibly be what you need.

We are requestin $50.00 donation for the program which goes to offset the costs of operating Squash Patch Farm

To learn how you can obtain a copy of the “Small Farm Manager” program or to obtain additional information, contact us at squashpathfarm@mail.com
